Empowering Leaders for Transformational Change

Trail Consultancy was born out of a passion to see leaders grow and flourish as they lead transformational change in their organisations. Founding partners Andy Murray and Jonathan Innes have a wide range of experience in the private and voluntary sector to offer to leaders and organisations who want to lead transformational change and have better outcomes.

Andy Murray has had a 30-year career in social work and the Third Sector. He graduated in 1995 from Robert Gordon’s University with a BA in Applied Social Sciences and Dip in Social Work and went on to study Social Work Management at Strathclyde University. After a career with City of Edinburgh and West Lothian Council and working with Bethany Christian Trust, Andy was the Programme Manager for Safe Families in Scotland where he developed services for families across several local authorities.

Andy chaired the EVOC Children, Young People and Families Network for 5 years and is passionate about supporting other Third Sector leaders in their own development.

As well as his working career, Andy is Chairman of Prison Fellowship Scotland and Aberdour Shinty Club. He is very active in his local church. Andy is married to Kirsteen and father of 5 boys. His happy place is anywhere in the Highlands and standing at the side of a shinty pitch watching his boys in the clash of the ash.

Andy is an enthusiastic learner and loves helping other leaders to slow down, reflect and recalibrate.

Jonathan
Innes

Jonathan Innes is a Chartered Certified Accountant, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (1998). His specialisms include: Charity & Business Accounting, Churches, General Practice. Jonathan has over 30 years of experience in the accountancy profession advising both owner managed businesses and charities. For almost twenty years he has been the Managing Director of his own accountancy practice Innes & Partners Ltd. He manages a team of twenty staff working between two offices one in Inverness and the other in Livingston.

Jonathan trained and qualified with Alexander Sloan CA where he went on to become a Manager in the firm. He then went to work as a Manager with PKF in Glasgow before moving to become Senior Manager with Cook and Co in Glasgow. Finally, prior to setting up his own practice he became Finance Manager of one of Scotland’s National Churches. During his time in the Church he helped to guide the trustees through the many changes required to comply with new charity regulations which had come into being. The experience gained both in practice and as Finance Manager has provided enormous insight into the needs of both charities and business owners and means that Jonathan is well placed to provide the advice you need for your organisation.

Jonathan is an active member of his local church and is the treasurer of a number of charities including Scripture Union Scotland, Elsie Normington Foundation, Scottish Northern Convention, National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland and is assisting in the setting up of Cross Training Ministries.
